Acrylic vs. Chemicals

Painting

Experimentation is crucial to the creative process. By removing constraints and allowing oneself the freedom to fail we create an opportunity for true innovation. With the Acrylic vs. Chemicals Series I sought to create several paintings quickly by relying on the laws of chance. By voiding my own expectations I left room to be pleasantly surprised with any outcome that may arise.

These images are the result of acrylic paint meeting chemicals such as gasoline, paint thinner, water, household cleaners and unconventional binders on various substrates. All of these paintings have been repurposed for various graphic design projects such as album covers and sublimated textile prints.
